Ophthalmic and optical products
An ophthalmic medical device can be defined as a product that serves a medical purpose for use in optometry and ophthalmology. These devices range from non-invasive medical devices and instruments commonly used for diagnostics, to invasive medical devices such as contact lenses (and their associated care products), to implantable medical devices such as intraocular lenses and glaucoma stents. Surgical systems, including lasers and phacoemulsification systems, and surgical instruments are also examples of these medical devices.
